With that in mind we are excited to share some of our new innovative floor plan options that will give you the flexibility to create how you want to live in your new Carter Grange home.

We took a floor plan and created four zones which could contain different layouts to be used in different ways depending on your needs.

Zone 1: Front Room – Four ways

We took one front room and worked up four different design layout options.

A bedroom for guests, a study, a formal sitting room with a concealed bar, and a separate workspace to operate a business.

With open-plan, communal living typically found at the rear of most modern home designs, the quiet seclusion of the front of the house is an opportunity not to be missed. The front room can be used for a number of different purposes or even multiple design combinations.

Zone 2: Hallway – Embrace the space

Your hallway can offer extra space, so whatever extra element you feel your home needs, it can often be custom-designed to fit neatly into this often-overlooked zone.

If it’s organisation, storage or even just a bit of luxury you want, the hallway is a great place to cater to those needs. With access from the garage, it is the ideal position for a mudroom consider adding hooks, shelves and benches or even individual cupboards for everything from shoes and school bags to sporting equipment and personal electronics.

Whether designed as separate room, or tucked away under a staircase, this bonus space could be used as a streamlined, built-in study nook with a sliding door for privacy. Or take the opportunity to custom-build a wine cellar for all of your entertaining needs. A powder room, complete with a toilet, mirror and basin, is also a great option and is especially convenient for guests.

Zone 3: Garage – Not just for cars

A change of configuration and custom designed layout can provide separate areas for particular pastimes and storage to ensure everything fits including your cars. For example, you could extend the length to add on a personal gym, complete with appropriate flooring, a workout space and equipment storage. You could even add windows and a ceiling fan, or cooling for extra comfort.

If a workshop or kids craft area is more your style, consider a design offering a separate space with built-in shelving, storage and bench space.

Perhaps cycling or golf is your passion, which means you could build in specialised racking, ensuring your equipment are kept safe and secure, but still easily accessible.

Zone 4: An outdoor room can double your space

Australians love being outside and your home’s outdoor surroundings should be no exception. With the right design, outdoor space can become a beautiful extension of your home and used all year round in heaps of different ways.

The opportunities a backyard space offers are endless, allocating space off the house to essentially create an entire extra room means you can utilise the area all year round.
